I am addicted to etching, the metalsmithing technique that enables a designer to imprint original patterns onto metal.

The effect is stunning--and in this pair of earrings, reminiscent of a vintage find in an antique store somewhere in a far-off place.

Teardrop shaped sterling silver pendants are etched with an ethnic-inspired design. Delicate strands of beaded chain cascade in front of the pendant and accented with single carnelian stones.

These earrings fall about 2 1/2 inches from the ear, and are secured to gently oxidized sterling ear wires accented with a single ball.
