The snow is lingering, but this week I saw one sign of spring: the tulips in my front yard are beginning to poke out of the cold ground.
There's another sign, too, that spring is on its way: new arrivals at Original Hardware.

In Colorado, autumn has arrived in full splendor.
Autumn leaves in firey gold litter the streets, and the crisp mornings prompt us to bring out the long-sleeved shirts and slippers.
I love this time of year. The transition from summer to autumn forces us to relax a bit, to batten down the hatches and get ready for what's to come.
It's also a very productive time for me in the studio. I've been busy creating new designs for the 2006 autumn collection. You'll find lots of new pieces to choose from, in hues of green and gold, blue and purple and metallics.
Check back often, as I'll be posting new things frequently before the holidays arrive. I hope the new collection inspires you to enjoy the season, and all that is to come.

With the temperatures here in Colorado sweltering in the 90s, it is difficult to think about this fall's color palette.
But the fashion industry has been working on its designs for fall/winter 2006 since January--and the color report indicates that the season is full of warm, comforting hues.
According to the Pantone Color Report, the authority on color trends, look for softer shades such as taupe, steel gray, khaki and apple cinnamon to take center stage.
Bolder hues such as purple magic, red mohogany and bijou blue will spice up the season's color palette.
The Color Report calls this season's hues a return to softer neutrals that pair nicely with a handful of bolder colors.
Expect these colors to dominate Original Hardware's Fall/Winter 2006 collection, with exciting designs in teal blue and steel gray pearls, turquoise, smokey quartz and carnelian.
I am busy in the studio working on the Fall/Winter collection, which will feature lots of longer designs that can be layered in multiple ways. Geometric patterns, such as circle links, will dominate as well!
